Phan Van Viet started his seagoing career as trainee marine engineer after graduating from Vietnam Maritime University and ultimately succeeded as Chief Engineer. Afterwards, he supervised new building ships at shipyards for Germanischer Lloyds. He also served as Senior Surveyor, Marine Management system auditor, MLC Inspector for NK (Nippon Kaili Kyokai) Class for around 5 years. In addition to that, he remained Principal Lecturer for Class NK academy. Apart from this, he attended many professional courses and certifications which have enhanced his competence, skills and knowledge as a first-class surveyor and shipping expert. He is the in charge of P&I condition and all other types of marine surveys for HDUM in Vietnam.
